Activity of the foundation

Who are we?

The UAB Research Park (PRUAB) is a non-profit foundation created in 2007 by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the Superior Council on Scientific Research (CSIC, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas), and the Institute of Agri-Food Research and Technology (IRTA, Institut de Recerca i Tecnologia Agroalimentària). Its mission is to promote and improve the activities of knowledge and technology transfer, promote entrepreneurial activity through the creation of research-based businesses, and, in general, ease the interaction between researchers, general society, and businesses.

What do we do?

The UAB Research Park provides services to the UAB research groups and departments, as well as the centres and institutes located at the Bellaterra campus. All of them carry out their activities around six different thematic areas: biotechnology and biomedicine; food technologies and animal health; materials and energy sciences (nanotechnology and microelectronics); information and communication technologies; human and social sciences; and environment and sustainability.

The UAB Research Park wants to be an effective tool of knowledge and technology transfer, able to communicate and answer to the necessities of the researchers, entrepreneurs, and businesses.
