Registration is now open for the UAB Innovation Fair 2026

Taking place on 20 October at the Hotel Exe Campus, the event will bring together companies and organisations with research groups and innovative firms from the UAB ecosystem, with the aim of fostering new collaborations.

Registration is now open for the fourth UAB Innovation Fair, which will be held on 20 October at the Hotel Exe Campus on the Bellaterra campus. The event will once again bring together the research community at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the business sector, and local organisations.

Taking place as part of UAB's Innovation Week, the fair aims to facilitate contact between companies seeking innovative solutions and the university's research groups, centres, scientific and technical services, spin-offs, and entrepreneurial projects.

During the event, attendees will be able to gain first-hand insight into technologies, expert knowledge and research capabilities applicable to a wide range of fields. They will also be able to explore opportunities to launch joint projects, access specialised talent and address innovation challenges.

Geopolitics, technological sovereignty and business links

The event will begin with an official opening ceremony led by Javier Lafuente, the Rector of the UAB, and Miquel Sàmper, the Minister for Business and Employment of the Government of Catalonia.

Next, Blanca Moreno-Dodson, an economist and international development expert, will deliver a lecture on geopolitics and technological sovereignty. In this lecture, she will analyse the main global changes and their impact on competitiveness, innovation, and the technological capacity of organisations.

Following a coffee break, the matchmaking session will commence, featuring bilateral meetings between companies, organisations, and UAB research and innovation ecosystem representatives. This format enables participants to identify shared interests, outline specific needs, and generate new collaboration opportunities.

The previous edition of the Fira brought together more than 350 participants, 70 exhibitors, and representatives from over 120 companies and organisations, thus consolidating the event's position as a strategic platform for knowledge transfer and collaboration between the university and society.

Attendance is free, but prior registration is required on the event’s website.
