OPTICmizing, awarded the Best Industry Project prize at The Collider Opportunity Validation.

The group at the Centre for Innovation, Research and Technology Transfer in Food Technology (CIRTTA UAB) has validated its technology and presented it at the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit, reinforcing its commitment to digitising the food industry with optical sensors and optimisation software.

OPTICmizing has successfully completed Mobile World Capital Barcelona's The Collider Opportunity Validation programme, during which it validated the potential of its solutions with key stakeholders and presented the results at the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit, the key reference event for the deep tech sector, with a pitch and its own stand. The Collider is the technology transfer programme of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, designed to support scientific and innovative projects in their transition from the laboratory to the market.

OPTICmizing is a research group affiliated with the Centre for Innovation, Research and Transfer in Food Technology (CIRTTA UAB) that works to digitalise the food industry through optical sensors and optimisation algorithms for online process control and product quality improvement. The pHotoYOGURT solution is currently the group's most mature technology, with a direct application in the dairy sector.

pHotoYOGURT, an optical technology that incorporates an in-line sensor to monitor pH in real time during yoghurt fermentation. The system facilitates process control and data-driven decision-making, with a direct impact on quality, productivity and costs. Among other venues, they also presented their technology as part of Innovation Week this October.

Through their research, the OPTICmizing team develops advanced optical sensors and software tools to optimise processes in the food industry, driving the transition towards Industry 4.0: from empirical to digital processes that are more efficient, precise and sustainable.
