Four seminars to promote the transfer and social impact of doctoral research
In collaboration with the UAB Doctoral School, the UAB Research Park is organising a series of seminars entitled 'How to innovate and transfer your research to society'. This training programme is aimed at research staff and aims to provide them with practical tools to help them identify the potential for the transfer and social impact of their research.
The programme offers an intensive, practical and results-oriented itinerary that enables doctoral students to learn how to convert scientific knowledge into practical solutions for society. This can be achieved through various channels, such as knowledge transfer, collaboration with companies and institutions, and innovation and entrepreneurship.
The training consists of four seminars combining practical content, participatory activities, real-life examples and hands-on work on each participant's research project. The programme is designed for doctoral students from any discipline who are interested in exploring knowledge transfer, preparing for impact calls, or strengthening the applied dimension of their doctoral thesis.
Throughout the sessions, participants will work on key aspects such as identifying social impact opportunities, defining value propositions, validating them with users through innovation methodologies, protecting knowledge, exploring financing options and developing communication and impact presentation skills. Participants will therefore obtain a value proposition, a map of stakeholders and sectors, validated hypotheses and planned interviews, as well as a basic impact pitch deck — all of which are key tools for advancing the transfer and social application of their research.
The seminars will take place on 10, 12, 17 and 19 February 2026 from 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. in the Eureka building of the UAB Research Park. Registration is free via this link, but places are limited.
