Finalists of the 7th edition of "Thesis in 4 Minutes" to offer presentations on 7 May

The final competition of "Thesis in 4 Minutes", in which PhD students are encouraged to present their doctoral thesis in a maximum of four minutes, will take place on 7 May at 12 noon, at the UAB Doctoral School. The event will be streamed live on the UAB's YouTube channel.


 

On 7 May, the PhD students selected by the jury will present their research in a simple language suitable for a general audience in a maximum time of four minutes.

The finalists who will present their doctoral thesis before the jury will be Christian Alejandro Báez Valverde, José Antonio Bueno Mancebo (Environmental Science and Technology), Alexandra Gómez Villa, Carmen Mesas Vaz, Esther Palones Femenia, Iris Parra Jounou, Gala Pujol Infantes, Judit Riera Arnau, Carolina Sandoval Ávila, Zainab Ul Kausar, Laia Vila Sellés.

The jury, formed by a representative of the Office of the Vice Rector for Research, a representative of the Office of the Vice Rector for Communication and Culture, the Vice Rector for International Relations and Language Policy, the Director of the Doctoral School, UAB researchers and members of the Permanent Board of the Doctoral School, will award the prizes, which consist in different cash prizes. The first prize is €800 and the financing of the winner's trip to Tarragona, and the second prize is €500. There is also a public prize, consisting of €200 and, as a novelty, this year the special Assumpció Català i Poch prize for the promotion and encouragement of the Catalan language, which will include a cash prize of €300 (these last two prizes are compatible and cumulative with the jury's prizes).
