Energethics and Sinfon.ia, best projects at the 5th edition of AI4ALL

The fifth edition of the AI4ALL program, promoted by the UAB Research Park, the Centre of Computer Vision, the UAB School of Engineering, and the Institute of Research on Artificial Intelligence at CSIC, has come to an end with the celebration of a contest of the projects being developed.

The managing director of the UAB Research Park, Carlos Valero, and the CEO of the Centre of Computer Vision (CVC UAB), Josep Lladós, inaugurated the final act of the AI4ALL program, which this year has accounted for the participation of 22 people and developed five entrepreneurial projects based on artificial intelligence.

Following this, the act had Lluís Juncà, General Director of Innovation, Digital Economy, and Entrepreneurship from the Departament d'Empresa i Treball from the Generalitat de Catalunya, introduce the Artificial Intelligence Strategy of Catalonia (Catalonia.AI). "From the government, we are putting the focus on deploying artificial intelligence as a priority of the country, with the will of making Catalonia an international point of reference on research, innovation, and talent generation," he remarked.

Fice projects developed during the program introduced their projects in front of a jury made up by Manuel Palacín, CEO of TECNIO; Lorena Poveda, digital transformation management at PepsiCo; Núria Vallès, Margarita Salas' postdoctoral researcher at UAB; and Carles Vericat, expert on AI solutions.

Energethics and Sinfon.ia were selected as the two best projects and received a prize of 3000€ to take part in the AI Accelerator program from the RDI-IA network.

The project Energethics, created by Jordi Llorente Díaz, Enric Mestre Conde, Núria Benítez, Jordi Clarà, and Pau Casacuberta Orta, has developed an algorithm on artificial intelligence that helps improve the utilisation of photovoltaic energy in self-consumer communities.

On the other hand, Sinfon.ia proposes a software service equipped with an AI able to analyse and evaluate musical interpretations with instruments and, at the same time, offers to the user courses to help play an instrument. Behind the project there are Arnau Barrera and Daniel Oliveras.

Besides these two projects, during the 5th edition of AI4ALL, we also developed Goodchef.ai, an app to make integral nutritional support practicable, accessible, and available for everyone; iaia market, a personal shopper tool designed to improve the buying process by connecting users with local shops; and Your Tech Tribe, a digital tribe that allows companies to develop a secure AI with their data and systems.

The goal of the AI4ALL program is to improve the technology and entrepreneurial projects on artificial intelligence. It is funded by the Departament d'Empresa i Treball and has the co-funding of the European Social Fund Plus and the support of the RDI-IA network.
