The 14th Generating Ideas Programme to promote "one health" projects

This new edition of the entrepreneurial programme of the UAB Parc de Recerca, aimed at researchers and PhD students, will focus on designing and developing innovative ways of creating more balanced and sustainable ecosystems. The application period is now open for those interested in submitting their proposals.

The Generating Ideas Programme by the UAB Parc de Recerca aims to foster entrepreneurship and innovation culture and to support the transfer of ideas from research staff and PhD students from all scientific fields of the UAB campus to respond to the challenges of industry and society.

This 14th edition of the programme is focused on the one health vision, and seeks to devise and develop innovative solutions through the interconnectivity and interdependence between human, animal and environmental health.

The programme, which will run from January to May, consists of the following phases:

  • Ideation: participants will work in group dynamics, collaborating with the entities that have proposed the programme's challenges, to create multidisciplinary projects and teams.
  • Training and mentoring: training sessions using design thinking and lean start up methodologies, for example on knowledge protection, business models, financing or how to make effective presentations, etc. Each team will be assigned an expert mentor who will guide them and help them to validate the project.
  • Prototyping: the five finalist projects will receive help to make a prototype or design of the project and present it.
  • Final competition: on 16 May, the members of each project will present their business ideas in front of a panel of experts, who will select the two winning projects. The best project will win 2,000 euros, and the best innovative idea, 1,000 euros.

Those interested can register to participate in the programme until 21 January.

This edition includes the support of the Santander Universities and the collaboration of the One Health Platform.
