These two companies from the UAB Research Park are in the list of the 2024 top 100 best startups from the Association of Spanish Scientific and Technological Parks (Asociación de Parques Científicos y Tecnológicos de España, APTE).
The Association of Spanish Scientific and Technological Parks (Asociación de Parques Científicos y Tecnológicos de España, APTE) has launched its annual 2024 top 100 best startups located in their scientific and technological parks, present in 15 Spanish autonomous communities. The list includes 100 innovative projects from leading sectors such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence, clean energies, telecommunications, health, space, automation, agrotech, blockchain, programming, electronics, and environmental sustainability.
Two companies located in the UAB Research Park are part of this list: Distinkt, a company created by researchers from UAB, the ICN2, and CSIC that develops nanotechnology-based, high-level security fluorescent inks to combat counterfeiting; and Qilimanjaro, a company located at the UAB Research Park specialising in quantum technology and superconductors.
The goal APTE is after with this initiative in its second year is to recognise the 100 best startups of the Spanish scientific and technological parks and highlight the quality and entrepreneurial capacity being developed in such environments, as well as introducing these companies to potential investing entities and high-growing projects.
These startups will have a special protagonism during the next edition of the Forum Transfiere being celebrated in Malaga from March 12th to 14th, 2025. They will receive a special invitation to participate in the Forum, with a networking agenda so they can take part and organise meetings with clients and potential investors.
